Thea Maloney is a sound artist, composer, performer, and sound healing practitioner based in Kansas City, Missouri. Their work embraces an ever evolving identity while exploring spiritual experiences, emotional landscapes, and the individuation process through sonic compositions, photography, electro-acoustic sound baths, and other expressions. Under the moniker Blanket Swimming, they create emotive ambient music, translating themes related to spirituality, nature, and human existence into delicate, dream-like, sound worlds. Maloney curates the label Asonu and operates their self-publishing banners, Open Colour Imprint and o/(0c)/i.

New Mexican Stargazers is one of many aliases of music producer and audio engineer Carter Eggert, who despite the project's name lives in Nashville, Tennessee. Under his other monikers (including Reversed Reference, Cartrox and Penthouse Suite) he has mostly focused on more contemporary styles of electronic music such as IDM, glitch and vaporwave, but New Mexican Stargazers, launched in 2018, is a decidedly retro-electronic affair. This is exemplified not only through its aural texture which is made to resemble magnetic tape after going through decades of degradation, but also in its timbral and stylistic palette which is characterized by extended improvisations featuring droning synthesizer ambiance, distorted distant-sounding guitars and sequenced analog synth beeps and blips.
