The application window is from November 1st, 2026 12AM — December 1st, 2026 11:59PM.

Once the application is submitted, we will review and let you know if you make it to our second round of in-person interviews.

We will get back to everyone about the status of their application.

Our 2027 artist in residence program runs from December 2026 — September 2027 followed by a 10 week long installation of the body of work created while in residence, October 2027 — December 2027.

Random Sample’s residence program operates as a work exchange. There is no rental fee for studio space.

The artist in residence has 24 hour building access but no housing accommodations.

We ask that our resident artist be willing to set aside a few hours each week to help us maintain our space and participate in community events.

Random Sample hosts a handful of weekly programming and we want to be sure the artist involved with our space is not only aware of but welcoming of this!

We expect the artist to:

• be respectful of the space, fellow artists and musicians, and our principals.

• attend Random Sample’s quarterly opening receptions.

• meet with us virtually for a monthly check in during the residency period.

• create a body of work in the studio space specifically for their exhibition at Random Sample.
