“Space Noodles”: Works by Eve Maret

what makes a bad girl bad, 2024

on display sept. 22nd- oct. 17th, 2024

Space Noodles is a reclamation of space through doodling. After a period of hiding, Eve used mark making as a vehicle to express emotions that had been under wraps in an effort to create feelings on paper that she could acknowledge and appreciate rather than wrestle against.

Making art has always been a way for Eve to move energy from her mind through her body, to exercise non-judgment, and to use her creative voice. “Space Noodles” is also a nod to Eve’s dear friend, Jess Chambers, who gifted her the paper and acrylic paint pens used to create the majority of pieces within the exhibit.

It’s not without the support of her friends and family that Eve was able to get through a challenging time. This show is dedicated to her community of friends and loved ones, whose presence and care has an undeniable healing effect.
