“kinda ugly”: Art by Stefanie Economos

Stefanie is a multidisciplinary artist based in Nashville. "kinda ugly" is a body of work made using found and recycled materials. Their works are a physical manifestation of their internal processing of capitalism, the climate crisis, and their own life. Stefanie uses scale and surrealism to evoke a sense of humor in their work. They said of their upcoming exhibition: “This body of work has given me the opportunity to experiment and is mostly made of recycled materials and found objects. The things you see glued, sewn and threaded onto these pieces are items I have collected throughout my life. I can be sentimental so I have adapted that sentimentality into my art practice.”
