CANNED/ENLATADOS

Random Sample is pleased to announce our upcoming exhibition opening this October.

CANNED/ENLATADOS is the solo exhibition of our 25/26 Artist-In-Residence, Montserrat. 

The opening reception will take place on Sunday, October 11th from 6-9PM.

Montserrat is an undocumented mixed-media visual artist working across sculpture, painting, video, photography, and installation.

Rooted in influences from her family and their small business in rural Tennessee, her practice interweaves the southeastern and immigrant narratives that live dismissed.

She explores her existence as an undocumented woman at the intersection between class, race, gender, and citizenship status within white supremacist late-stage imperial capitalism using the collocation and alteration of found objects and images.

Montserrat’s upcoming exhibition explores undocumented workers in the food service industry and will feature photographs paired with a sound installation.

The installation will be on view until Sunday, December 20th.
