Taxiway formed in Nashville, TN in the spring of 2021. Initially conceived in 2020 during the COVID-19 lockdowns as a bedroom pop outlet for singer/songwriter Mike Aurand, Taxiway now operates as a full band with Mike’s wife Emily Guthrie on drums, and husband/wife duo Joseph and Emily Jared on lead guitar and bass.

Aug Stone writes words and music, sometimes together. He is the author of 'Nick Cave's Bar' and 'Off-License To Kill', and has written for The Quietus, The Comics Journal, Under The Radar, Red Bull Music Academy, and many other sites and magazines. Aug played in the bands Aug Stone & The Love Conspiracy, H Bird, The Soft Close-Ups, Lifestyle, and Rockets Burst From The Streetlamps. He now performs comedy as Young Southpaw, described by popbollocks.com as "leading listeners on a surreal journey through doors they didn't even know existed, into a highly original, deeply funny land of pop culture confusion". Young Southpaw's 'The Lost Archimedes' album, which Stone considers his masterpiece, was released in May 2020. Aug also hosts the podcasts The Young Southpaw Part Of An Hour and the Etcetera ETC With Young Southpaw.
