KBD is a trio of musicians who perform long form improvisational sound pieces using electroacoustic instrumentation. This approach is experimental by both nature and design, and serves as a way for listeners to engage with deep and active listening. Its principal members are Michael Kimaid, Gabriel Beam, and Ryan Dohm.
Formed in 2006, the group released [four plus one] on the Eh? music label before Dohm left for Los Angeles in 2007. Shortly thereafter, a brief but productive collaboration with Colin Helb saw performances vary between a trio and a duo lineup through 2008.
Afterwards, Kimaid and Beam continued to play as KBD(uo), releasing an EP called Candid on FTAM and follow up full length on Eh?, Any Port In A Storm. KBD(uo) also released a DVD entitled Drop The Remainder in 2013 on the New Orleans based multimedia label The Language Foundry, and a cassette release entitled Loss/Gain on the RCN label from Akron, Ohio.
Infanta Silhouette is the nom de son for Linda Heck’s exploratory solo electronics practice incorporating field and processed recordings, vocals and synthesizer. Artist/musician/writer Linda Heck (she/her) is the founder of Electric Arcadia studio in Sewanee, TN.
Bellysauce (Nashville, TN) is focused on the sounds and harmonics of the tuba against a filter of beats, noise, and glitch effects.
The sounds of Bellysauce flow through shoegaze, acid jazz, noise, nu classical, electronica, and post-rock. Influences include Red Snapper, Drums and Tuba, Horse Lords, Squarepusher, Lush, Sonic Youth, Autechre, and too many jazz and classical composers to count.
Live shows are weird and highly improvisational.
