This group show will feature work from seven emerging Nashville based artists- Liv Cullison, Olivia Daniels, William McClatchey, Fox Nelson, Nicole Tatum, Ivy Welsh, and Eva Wurst.

There will be a wide range of mediums from welded steel, oil on canvas, collage, paper mache, and film.

Liv Cullison: I’m an interdisciplinary artist working with video glitch art, acrylic painting, collage, dada poetry, and sculpture. I’m drawn to the beauty in errors- the moments when analog technology and digital malfunction collide. My process is fluid and intuitive; I set an intention, then let the work guide me. Meaning emerges through experimentation, revealing what my subconscious wants to express. At its core, my practice is about connection, finding humanity in imperfection, and building community through shared discovery.

Olivia Daniels: I’m a multi-media artist based out of Nashville, Tennessee. Through collage, textiles, photography, video, screen printing, and sculpture, I explore the relationship between nature, impermanence, and the traces of human experience that linger within material and memory.

Fox Nelson: My paintings explore my personal observation and reflection on the world around me through an almost mystic perspective- examining curiosities and fascinations while discerning real and lived experience. I draw inspiration from mythologies that I find to tell very human stories, in an inhumanly digestible way, and narratives that traverse the why we are, what we are, and how we are. In my artistic process, I ponder on these inspirations, using them to highlight what may seem mundane or even ugly, in a way that can reveal the magical and profound, through a distortion of varying imagery. I paint thinly, approaching oil paint with an almost watercolor-like technique to slowly carve out depth and form, while letting the inherent luminosity of the canvas seep through. I believe this light can be a language of its own, if you’re willing to listen. In this exhibition I invite viewers to tune in, to contemplate the nearly fantastical elements of life and to sit with our fleeting experiences, pondering the numinous. Then ask the question. Did you hear it?

Nicole Tatum is a Nashville based artist whose mixed media works celebrate the ugly, unsettling, and downright spooky nature of being a human. With an intuitive process using a range of materials including paper mache, acrylic paint, clay, and resin, Nicole creates fantastical portraits that are sometimes scary, often silly reflections on her own feelings and impulses. Her debut solo show at Random Sample was titled 'Spectre' and featured 18 hand painted paper mache masks.

Ivy Welsh is a self taught artist from Tennessee. She is the Arts Programming Director at Random Sample and the founder of Renascence Books, a small independent book publisher based in Nashville.

Evangeline Wurst is an actor and writer, and William McClatchey is a writer, director, and cinematographer. They met while working on the feature film "The Third", written and directed by Manuel Lagos Jr. in 2021, and they've been working together ever since. Evangeline has been acting for over 10 years and has a deep interest in psychological thrillers and slice of life stories. William has a BA in Motion Pictures and the majority of his work over the years has been behind the camera. "In the Sky on the Ground" has been in the works since 2023, between freezing cold sets, practical effects, 3 crew members, and a really testy wig we're proud to be showing it at Random Sample.
